Abstract:

The Department of Farm Animal Nutrition at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences has this year organised an international symposium on animal nutrition for the twentieth time. The Symposium has initiated 30 years ago by Prof. Laszlo Babinszky, as being the head of the Department of Animal Nutrition at the legal predecessor, with the aim that Hungarian specialists should be able to familiarise themselves with the latest research results from home and abroad so that they might be able to apply them in their everyday practical work. It was also important to host a forum where specialists from Hungary and other countries – researchers, lecturers and spe-cialists from practice – can gather regularly and exchange their opinions and experi-ence in the various fields of animal nutrition science.
Presentations at the International Symposium on Animal Nutrition focus on Innovation in farm animal nutrition and food production. The keynote speakers introduced some present and foreseen trends in innovation activity and strategies developing in practice to consider how animal feeding and nutrition can contribute to the solution of this challenge.Besides the plenary presentations, further presentations were also given, and in this proceedings, all papers presented in the Symposium are published.
